ARF is currently working to assist our partner Chella Phillips, who sheltered 97 dogs in her home on the island of Nassau, Bahamas, during Hurricane Dorian. With help from Guardians of Rescue, these dogs made their way to Florida. Now in Florida, ARF and Second Chance Rescue are coordinating the last leg of their trip, securing the fastest and safest way to New York. Thank you to Halifax Humane Society, Inc. for keeping these dogs safe until transport is arranged. Having worked with Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue Team (PAART) in 2018, ARF asked again for their assistance in air transport. Together, ARF and PAART have secured a cargo jet to transport as many as 25 dogs destined for Long Island. Funding for this rescue effort is made possible by the Irving and Phyllis Millstein Foundation for Animal Welfare, who has helped ARF with rescues for after Hurricane Maria and in South Carolina. Once in New York, ARF, Jake’s Rescue Ranch and the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation will care for them and find them loving homes.

This is just the beginning of their journey and the care they will need. Please help us help them, by making a donation today!
