On January 22, ARF’s family was stunned by the death of our dear friend, Billy Rayner. As a member of ARF’s Board of Directors for 25 years and its President for ten, Billy assembled a dynamic Board and community of supporters who championed the expansion of the ARF campus through two capital campaigns. A businessman and an artist, he brought all his talents to bear on ARF and its growth into a national rescue organization that rescued more than 1,700 homeless cats and dogs in 2017 and placed 1,647 with new families. His pride in our success means the world to us.
With his wife, Kathy, Billy illuminated ARF with joy and warmth, and we extend our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to her. Billy, along with ARF’s founders, the Board, and all who have volunteered, adopted, and contributed to our mission have built an enduring legacy of compassion through the thousands of lives ARF has saved. We are honored to carry that forward.
