Meet Gargoyle, a roughly 2-year-old, 100% certified beefcake who looks like he was carved out of a cathedral. What exactly is he? Excellent question. French Bulldog? American Bulldog? Pit Bull? A mysterious combination of all three plus several scoops of pure muscle and a little magic? Your guess is as good as ours. We do know he is goofy, incredibly solid, and built like he has been secretly training for the canine Olympics. Gargoyle knows sit, down, and paw, and honestly, we would not be shocked if he knows how to spot you on bench press. He just hasn't disclosed that information yet. Gargoyle is looking for a very specific setup: an adult-only home where he can be the one and only pet. No cats, no dogs, no tiny roommates trying to steal his spotlight. Just his people, plenty of love, and someone who appreciates a dog who looks intimidating but is actually a giant goofball with absolutely no idea how funny he is. His story is a little chaotic too. In August, he was spotted by a staff member wandering near Three Mile Harbor County Park in 90-degree heat. He approached their car, put two feet inside, then immediately backed away and started barking like he had just discovered a home invasion. He was wearing a collar but had no tags and appeared well cared for, though it seems likely he had been dumped there. After a week of searching and several sightings, animal control finally got him after he turned up on someone's porch. He was understandably scared at first, but slowly warmed up with treats and revealed the extremely goofy little man hiding beneath the gargoyle exterior. Gargoyle may look like he was summoned from the depths to guard an ancient fortress, but what he really wants is a castle of his own, some affection, and a full-time audience for his nonsense. Just make sure there aren't any other animals living in it.
