ARF Welcomes Hurricane Isaias Rescues
Our kennels were full, but we made room.

When Category 3 Hurricane Isaias threatened shelters and rescues down south, thousands of animals were at risk. By moving shelter dogs to safety ahead of the storm, we helped local shelters make room for the animals who would need care in its aftermath.
On Friday, October 9, 20 dogs arrived on an emergency flight at Westhampton Airport, where ARF Hamptons and Kent Animal Shelter welcomed them with open arms. When BISSELL Pet Foundation called, we did not hesitate to say yes.
With our Dog Walk less than 24 hours away, our team was already working around the clock. But when the call for help came, we found a way. This was rescue at its best: acting before disaster struck, working together across organizations, and making room for the lives that needed us most.
Today, we are caring for 10 of these incredible dogs. Once they are medically cleared, they will be available for adoption and ready to begin their next chapter.
Because when animals need us, we find a way. Help us continue to say yes by making a donation.
