Scout
Scout is back at ARF and ready for her encore… and trust us, this 12-year-old has still got it. Adopted back in 2018, Scout recently returned when her family could no longer care for her, but she hasn’t let that dull her sparkle one bit. Originally a Southern girl from South Carolina, she’s about to celebrate her 12th birthday and is proving that age is just a number. Senior? Please. Scout prefers “seasoned with extra zest.” Shelter life isn’t really her scene, so she took a little vacation to a foster home and absolutely thrived. Her foster reports that Scout wakes up each morning like she just had three cups of coffee, greeting the day with happy hops, full-body tail wags, and her absolutely iconic teeth chattering when she’s excited. It’s part dance, part celebration, and 100% Scout. She’s got the basics down pat too. House-trained? Check. Walks well on a leash? Check. Friends with kids and other dogs? Also check. Overachiever behavior, honestly. At heart, Scout is a professional homebody. Her favorite activities include couch lounging, snack sampling, and settling into a cozy routine with her person. She’s not one to bark up a storm and prefers a calm, low-key lifestyle. Big crowds aren’t really her thing, she’d much rather hang out with her favorite human and call it a perfect day. Easygoing, loyal, and full of quiet charm (with a splash of goofiness), Scout is ready to be someone’s constant companion. She may be a senior, but her playful spirit and sweet nature prove she’s still very much in her prime!
