ARF Celebrates 50 Years of Rescue

ARF kicked off its 50th Anniversary festivities on Saturday, May 18, 2024, with Pet Celebration Day! It was a great turnout of old and new friends, along with their four-legged companions – all coming together in support of ARF’s rescue efforts for the past 50 years and the next 50 years to come. People and pets alike enjoyed treats, music, free microchipping and nail clipping, the agility course in the William P. Rayner Training Center, crafts, and much more. ARF’s Executive Director Kim Nichols and Board President Michael Franzino thanked the community for their support over the years, and ARF received proclamations from New York Senator Anthony Palumbo and East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez in honor of 50 years of rescue. Plus, James Lane Post announced the winners of their annual Pet Photo Contest. Thank you to all who attended, and to our volunteers and Board of Directors, as well as our sponsors, The Baker House 1650, Carol Saxe, Citarella, Dee is for Dogs, Dylan’s Candy Bar, East End Tick, Hampton Coffee Company, Invisible Fence, the Kiwanis Club of East Hampton, Lexus of Southampton, Mercedes Benz of Southampton, Quintessentially and to Luv Michael, Lux Paw Mobile, BuddhaBerry, Mattitaco and Long Island Wing King.
