Giving Tuesday—a day when compassion turns into action. We’re asking for your support to help ARF continue the rescue and adoption work that saves dogs in danger, gives them hope, and brings families together. Photo above courtesy of Pilots to the Rescue.
This year’s Home for the Holidays Rescue Transport is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together. Seventeen amazing rescue dogs arrived at ARF Hamptons from Louisiana, thanks to an extraordinary collaborative effort. Their lives will be transformed thanks to donors like you.
Our friends at FAUNA – Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals, Sabine Animal Shelter, and Heart of Louisiana Humane Society loaded a Rescue Riders Pet Transport and drove these deserving dogs to Knoxville, TN. From there, the team at Pilots To The Rescue stepped in. Because of the government shutdown, they were unable to fly, but that didn’t stop them. Instead, they got behind the wheel and drove the dogs all the way to ARF, ensuring their rescue could continue safely and on schedule.
Your support makes rescues like this possible. Without it, many of these dogs—at risk in overcrowded Southern shelters—face a heartbreaking reality: they may not make it out. But together, we are changing that.
Today, we’re honored to introduce you to a few of the dogs whose lives were transformed because people like you cared:
Arcus – 1 year old
Arcus survived a cruelty and neglect case in Louisiana. Once starved and forgotten, he is now safe and ready for the love he always deserved. Sweet, affectionate, and eager to learn what it means to be a cherished family companion, Arcus is proof of how far a dog can come with patience, guidance, and kindness. Apply to adopt Arcus.
Dunkin – 3 years old
Dunkin lost his leg and tail after a scuffle with another dog, but his spirit remains unshaken. He may be a bit reserved at first, but he quickly warms up and shares his gentle heart. His signature “tri-pod hop” only makes him more endearing. Dunkin is ready for a home that will love him exactly as he is. Apply to adopt Dunkin.
Remi – 3 months old
Rescued from a trailer park after being allowed to roam near a busy highway, Remi is lucky to be alive. She’s a joyful, fun-loving pup who balances high-energy zoomies with snuggly affection. Smart, curious, and eager to grow, Remi thrives around people and other dogs and is ready for a safe, loving home. Apply to adopt Remi.
Levi – 8 months old
After being accidentally run over and left without medical care, Levi is now healing thanks to the intervention of FAUNA and the extended rescue network that refused to give up on him. He is one of the many dogs who remind us why this work matters so deeply. Apply to adopt Levi.
ADOPTED!
Because of compassionate supporters like you, four of the seventeen dogs have already found their forever homes in time for the holidays!
