Toothpick was found in a puddle of mud on a roadside in Bridgehampton, NY, infested with fleas and suffering from anemia and malnutrition. He weighed less than eight ounces and struggling to survive. Our team, with the help of local veterinary partners, provided emergency care and saved his life.
What followed was intense around-the-clock treatment for his many ailments. Too fragile for shelter life, Toothpick first lived with a staff member then a volunteer foster family, who could provide constant care and frequent meals to help him gain weight. Toothpick defied all odds and is thriving!
