The Kit Kat Fund
The Kit Kat Fund was established to honor the beloved Miniature Schnauzer of Gordon H. Hoppe and Michael Dehn Breault.
Kit Kat, a retired show dog, was instrumental in helping her companion Sophie, an ARF rescue who lived life as puppy mill breeder, adjust to life outside of that cruel environment. Kit Kat tragically died too soon, and the Kit Kat Fund was established not only to encourage and support puppy mill survivors and those who care for them, but also to support senior and medically complex animals who often face similar challenges and encourage adoption of these wonderful companions through financial support.
Please consider a donation in honor of Kit Kat and in honor of all those like her, that remind us that dogs and cats can sometimes be the best therapy for one another.

Daisy, 8-years-old
Daisy has loads of love to give! She recently came to ARF as a surrender, and is now looking for a new place to call home. Daisy is very affectionate and loves to give kisses. She is also smart as a whip and is eager to learn more. Daisy does have some anxiety, so she takes her time getting comfortable with new people, but once she knows you’re her friend, she’s a big mush! Due to her anxiety, a calm home with children over the age of 12 is recommended. Daisy doesn’t always want a canine companion around, so a thorough meet and greet is a must. If you’re looking for a best friend in a dog, look no further; Daisy is your girl! Fill out an application to meet Daisy.
Lion, 10-years-old
Cute as a button and sweet as can be, Lion is ready for a life full of love! Lion came to ARF when his owner could no longer care for him. This adorable orange boy wants nothing more than a lap to sit in, sunshine to lay in, and someone to call his person. Lion does have diabetes which requires special care. He is very polite for his twice daily insulin injections, and loves his prescription diet. Open you heart to this truly special boy, it won’t take long for you to fall in love with him. Miss Pickles, 3-years-old
Pickles is a gorgeous Pit Bull Terrier who loves people and loves to give kisses! She has a heart of gold and a BIG personality that is known for serenading staff and volunteers with her adorable squeaks and noises. Pickles is dog selective, and a meet and greet would be necessary if she were to have a canine sibling. She also requires a special diet due to allergies. Come meet Pickles and you will find it impossible not to fall in love with her! Fill out an application to meet Miss Pickles.
Mia, 16-years-old
Mia is a sweet senior looking for a loving home to spend her golden years. After her owner could no longer care for her, she came to ARF looking for comfort. As a long haired cat, Mia needed a haircut due to some matting. She may look a little silly now, but give her some time and her gorgeous calico coat will grow back. Upon arrival, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. This is a manageable condition that is common in older cats. Mia is doing well on her prescription diet and kidney supplement that our medical team has prescribed. This older gal is very sweet, but may take a moment to become comfortable with new people and surroundings. All Mia wants is a loving home, and a lap to nap in. Fill out an application to meet Mia.
