Join ARF for the next installment of Bark the Question on Wednesday, March 18 at 6 PM for What to Expect When You’re Expecting…A Dog
How can I make my new dog feel more comfortable?
Does the sex of the dog matter when bringing home a second dog?
Should you have friends and family meet your new puppy as soon as you bring it home?
Bringing home a new dog is an exciting moment, but it can also be a big adjustment for both you and your pet. Whether you are welcoming a puppy, adopting from a shelter, or adding a second dog to the family, every dog, no matter where they come from, needs time to settle in and feel safe. Even changing homes for the season can be a stressful event for you and your dog, and all will require a period of decompression and adjustment. And if your dog has been in your home for months or longer, this discussion can provide further insight into how dogs adjust to new situations and environments.
Join our panel of experienced pet professionals including, Veronica Grzybowska, CPDT-KA, CBCC-KA, Cindy LeRoy, CPDT-KA, Gail Murphy, CPDT-KA and moderator Caryl Glaab, the Director of Training Program at the William P. Rayner Training Center, as they share helpful tips and answer your questions about making the transition a positive and successful experience for everyone.
This lecture is free for the public to attend and is for human attendees only. Please leave your furry friends at home. Space is limited and must be reserved in advance.

The CUTEST baby shower of the year… is for kittens!

Kitten season is almost here, and ARF Hamptons is getting ready to welcome dozens of tiny, wiggly, purr-filled kittens. Every spring, vulnerable little ones arrive who need round-the-clock care—many are orphaned and rely on bottle feeding, warmth, and loving foster homes until they’re ready for adoption.
That being said… you’re invited to celebrate at ARF’s annual Kitten Shower on Saturday, April 11, from 12 to 2 PM at the ARF Adoption Center, 124 Daniels Hole Road, East Hampton!
Come help us gather supplies, learn how to care for bottle babies, and meet a few of our tiniest arrivals. Just like a baby shower, ARF’s Kitten Shower helps us collect the love and supplies our kittens need to thrive during the busiest time of the year.
What to Expect at the Kitten Shower:
- Foster & Care Training – Learn how to foster and care for newborn kittens until they’re ready for adoption.
- Bottle-Feeding Demonstrations – Watch hands-on training at 12:30 and 1:30 PM to help orphaned “bottle babies.”
- Kitten Supply Drive – Bring much-needed supplies from our Kitten Shower Registry Wishlist (available on Amazon).
- Operation Cat Program – Learn how to support community cats through humane trapping, spay/neuter, and care.
- Adoption & Volunteer Opportunities – Sign up to foster, adopt, or support ARF’s lifesaving mission.
- Fundraising Fun – Drop a donation in the Kitty Tip Jar to help kittens in need and suggest a kitten name.
- Kitten Crafts with Shine Studio.
- Adorable Kitten Themed Snacks and Refreshments
Whether you’re curious about fostering, hoping to adopt, or just want to spend time with kittens and fellow cat lovers, come celebrate kitten season with us!
Because every tiny toe bean deserves a chance at big dreams, cozy naps, and a bright future.
